Will the StoreJet be damaged if it is not securely removed?

Category : Setup / Operation

A hard drive is a data storage device that uses magnetic storage to store and physically scan across multiple spinning platters to find individual pieces of data scattered throughout the drive.

In order to make a hard drive look thinner, manufacturers use SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording) HDD technology to achieve higher density of storage units by stacking tracks one to another.

So, improper removal of external hard drives would easily damage the platters and read/write head, especially for high-density hard drives, causing physical or logical bad sectors and decreasing its read/write speeds and data reliability.

We strongly recommend that you safely remove the StoreJet from your computer at all times.
